Casa Teva
Where history gently rests upon the present
Tucked into the golden-lit hills of Lisbon, just steps from the majestic São Jorge Castle, Casa Teva emerges as an intimate hotel that pays tribute to history, to materiality, and to the soul of the city. Designed as a contemporary refuge in dialogue with its surroundings, this project seeks more than visual beauty—it aims to evoke a feeling: that of being suspended in time, between past and present.
From the first sketch, the building’s organic form was embraced, allowing its lines to unfold naturally. Sheer curtains enhance this fluidity, softening the architecture and letting light compose its own narrative. The palette, calm and neutral, is grounded in warm beige tones—serene and understated—while bold chrome accents introduce a modern gesture, an unexpected note that elevates the atmosphere without disrupting its harmony.
Soft greens woven into the furnishings recall the charm of traditional southern European patios—spaces where life unfolds to the rhythm of breeze and shadow. Textures invite the touch: raw linen, aged wood, hand-formed ceramics. Each piece has been carefully chosen—classical sculptures, wall tapestries, and objects sourced from nearby markets—woven into the visual story to anchor the experience in the spirit of Portugal.
More than a hotel, Casa Teva is a poem written in stone and fabric—a contemporary homage to Lisbon’s timeless beauty.
